Downtown Pompey is a performance-based organisation, resident at The New Theatre Royal, bringing together a variety of local communities in Portsmouth through queer art practices, offering a space to explore identities and understanding that everyone has a voice and a need to be heard.
The project
Gav worked with Downtown Pompey to film and produce content around their newest stage show, "Sticky Floors & Palm Trees". He shot and edited the full live show and developed a series of behind-the-scenes videos, each focusing on different aspects of the culture and processes involved in putting on a show like this. These videos focus on the creative collaboration needed to bring multiple disciples together, the gathering of real-life stories to create a narrative and a look into the care-in-practice team that Downtown offers to help build a safe and nurturing space for everyone involved.
